Q1: So where are you from?

EP: I was born right here in the Red River Valley. I grew up here and just graduated Master’s Baptist College here too. Yes, it’s cold and sometimes fun to get away from but I love coming back home too! Plus we have 4 seasons here..haha

Q2: When did you know you were a photographer?

EP: Tough question! I never went to college for photography or took a photography class (sometimes I think it’s noticeable) ;D I’d say it was a gradual thing… starting with my first DSLR at 18 in 2006. In 2008 I shot for Scheels. After a year there, EP was growing so I quit Scheels and went full time with my business. I know God has given me this love for photography and I thank Him for the privilege of doing what I love everyday!

Q3: What is your favorite thing to photograph?

EP: I LOVE shooting engagement couples! They’re sooo sweet and excited and they love all of my crazy ideas. ;D

Q4:  What is the story behind the name Eden Photography?

EP: Eden is actually my middle name. I know-my parents were kind enough to think of my future business! Thank you!

Q5:  So is your name Beth or Eden?

EP: I’ve grown up with Bethy and if you call me that- there will probably be an instant connection! Haha

But yes, my name is Beth & Eden… I get both.

Q6:  What is your passion besides photography?

EP: I love seeing new places. So far I’ve been to the UK, Thailand, Canada and Mexico! Israel is next on the list..

Q7:  Tell us a completely random fact about you…

EP: Going along with the above question… I’ve never had the privilege of touring an airplane restroom. Yep- good thing I slept all the way to Thailand. Looonnng flight!

Q8: If you would not be a photographer, what would you be?

EP: I would probably be a violinist. I’ve played since I was 8! That or a graphic artist. Or an interior designer…maybe I’d attempt to cook better somewhere in there.

Q9: You have a day-off what do you do?

EP: I would take a day trip to Minneapolis to walk around staring at Anthropologie for a few hours. Then I’d eat at Chipotle before heading home of course.

Q10: Biggest pet peeve?

EP: If you ask my friends they will probably tell you I’m a germaphobe.

Q11: What do you hate photographing?

EP: As any other photographer would admit, the formals at weddings aren’t a favorite. I’m sure any bride would admit the same thing! But both parties realize the importance and value of these and we get through them. ;D

Q12:  Favorite place on Earth?

EP: Okay, unfair question because I can’t pick just one! Stateside, Duluth, Minnesota wins. It’s gorgeous! Overseas I’d say Scotland was really pretty. Wee sheepies and cobblestones.. ahhh! I like seaport towns too. :D

Q13: What was the funniest thing you just heard/saw/watched?

EP: I just watched a wonderful (horrible) version of a man singing O Holy Night on youtube and laughed my head off!

Q14: Why is photography so important to you?

EP: I love being part of a couple’s most important day and giving them their memories in photographs! And I love seeing my photography up in homes..knowing that photo could be passed on through their family for generations. What an honor!

Q15: Lastly, if you could shoot any-thing or anybody in the world what/who would it be?

EP: I will someday shoot a wedding in Greece…or somewhere near there. Maybe with rolling hills and a beach nearby.
